Camera Height for Selfies
Hold your camera above eye level and angle slightly downward for the most flattering costume shots. The camera should capture from mid-chest to just above the head for most costume details.
Mirror Selfies
Full-length mirror selfies are excellent for showing off complete costume looks. Ensure the mirror is clean and well-lit. Position yourself so the phone camera doesn't block the costume's best features.
Lighting for Selfies
Natural window light is the best selfie lighting โ position yourself facing the window rather than with the window behind you. At conventions, find the well-lit areas near windows or light panels for the best on-the-floor shots.
Using a Tripod and Self-Timer
A small, lightweight portable tripod allows you to take full-body costume shots without a photographer. Set the self-timer for 10 seconds and use burst mode to capture multiple frames per trigger.
